Executive Manager Models, AI and Data Audit
“At CommBank we are proud to support flexibility, let’s discuss what this means for you”
The Commonwealth Bank of Australia (Bank) is Australia's leading provider of integrated financial services. They are committed to continuously improving governance practices and ensuring that they are aligned with business, stakeholders and customers’ needs. Group Audit and Assurance (GA&A) are the internal audit function for the Group. Their primary purpose is to provide independent and objective assurance of the effectiveness of the Groups risk management, controls and governance processes.
See yourself in our team
The Models, Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Audit team is a team within GA&A, focusing on Model Risk, Data & AI across CBA. The Models, Data & AI team reviews the effectiveness of the processes, controls and governance that seek to mitigate the risks associated with our internal, external and regulatory obligations for these risks. In addition, your team will provide support for Business Audit teams and provide expert knowledge.
As an Executive Manager for Models, AI and Data, you will lead a team of subject matter experts (SMEs) with strong background across modelling, Artificial Intelligence and data management. You and your team will provide objective assurance on the risks and controls and work closely together with the business audit teams to ensure adequate coverage is provided. Further, you will closely liaise with risk stewards, the relevant departments and line 2 to ensure appropriate coverage and continuously monitor the business.
Do work that matters
Build and deliver a dynamic, risk-based audit plan for the Models, AI and Data audit team, and support the broader GA&A plan.
Supervise audit delivery, review and approve key audit stage-gates in the audit workflow in line with Audit methodology as well as oversee effective and efficient assurance to enable complete and collaborative delivery of your team's audit plan, and overall GA&A plan.
Work closely with stakeholders at all levels in developing audit findings and recommendations regarding internal control and compliance.
Prepare and deliver simple, pragmatic and easy to read audit reports for stakeholders, including the Board Audit Committee and relevant subsidiary board and risk committees.
Drive high performance by taking accountability and leading audit team members to achieve GA&A strategic targets and goals as well actively provide thought leadership for the organisation on the emerging risks of AI and how best to manage it.
Maintain strong relationships with the GA&A leadership team, Regulators and External Audit to gain input and buy-in to strategic initiatives and develop strong relationships with key senior stakeholders throughout the business to support continuous monitoring and provide independent advice as needed.
We’re interested in hearing from people who possess
Strong understanding of the landscape of Artificial Intelligence and data management, including local and international regulations
Extensive managerial experience of SME audit teams and previous internal audit experience is advantageous
Excellent project management and organisational skills to deliver across multiple competing and time-bound priorities
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts using simple language
