Lighting Designer/Engineer Intern/Co-op Fall 2026 - Energy Solutions

Summary: CMTA, a Legence Company, is one of the fastest growing engineering firms in the U.S., specializing in sustainable, high-performance building engineering. They are seeking a Lighting Designer/Engineer Intern/Co-op for Fall 2026 to assist in project development for energy savings performance contracts, gaining hands-on experience in commercial lighting systems and supporting project managers. Responsibilities: - Assist in all aspects of the project development phase – including site visits, building audits - Energy calculations in relation to lighting upgrades - Produce detailed construction documents using CAD for LED lighting upgrades - Support material procurement and construction management staff during implementation of lighting upgrades - Field verify proper installation and implementation of LED lighting upgrades Required Qualifications: - Pursuing a BSEE, preferably a sophomore (2nd year), or junior (3rd year) - CAD experience is helpful but not required - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel - Ability to work both independently and as a team member - Ability to travel for field work Required Skills: CAD, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Lighting systems, Energy calculations, Construction documentation, work as a team member Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Fall Benefits: Paid sick leave, 401(k) retirement savings plan
