Job Description
Summary: Climatec, LLC is a premier global supplier specializing in building security, energy efficiency, and building automation solutions. The Field Installer Intern will shadow team members in installing conduit, cabling, and devices for building automation systems, ensuring safety standards and client specifications are met.
Responsibilities:
- Shadow workers for conduit, cabling, and devices that make up the Building Automation System
- Work closely with Installers and other team members to ensure that installations meet safety standards and client specifications
- Pay attention to detail and adhere to timelines
- Shadow high-quality construction services that meet or exceed client expectations
- Understand construction practices and follow safety protocols diligently
- Use tools and equipment effectively, requiring both technical skills and a commitment to safety. Attention to detail is critical, as installers must ensure that all materials are installed correctly and meet quality standards
- Read drawings to shadow install controls and/or special building system installations
- Support installation personnel on project sites
- Shadow required troubleshooting efforts during either the static or dynamic start up or commissioning of building controls and special systems
- Shadow preparation of As-built drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manuals
- Shadow up-to-date As-built information as required including locations for sensors, panels, database, code, etc
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of high school diploma
- Some basic understanding of Building Automation Systems or Commercial Electrical installation
- An understanding of basic computer operation
- An understanding of the construction industry including safety, electrical codes, etc
- Clear and concise ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- An ability to understand empathetically the issues and perceptions others have and to creatively and successfully work through these issues to achieve a successful outcome and customer and employee satisfaction
- Ability to successfully pass a background check
- Have a valid driving license
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years' experience with Building Automation Systems or Commercial Electrical installations experience
- A clear ability to work with electrical equipment such as volt meters, amp meters, etc
- The ability to troubleshoot basic electric circuitry including reading and interpreting electrical, control, and special system diagrams
- A working understanding of low and high voltage AC circuitry including transformers, fuses, breakers, multi-phase power, etc
