Job Description
Summary: Clarest Health is dedicated to providing personalized care to healthcare institutions. They are seeking an Automatic Dispensing System (ADS) Technician responsible for managing the pharmacy's automated dispensing systems, ensuring proper functionality, and providing user support.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process DEA/ BNE state applications to legally use machine
- Address any issues with Clarest IT to make sure connections are sustained for all machines to ensure proper communication of patient info within ADS machine
- Review and complete daily ADS restocks to keep work flowing normally
- Verify all medications sent on previous delivery are correctly entered into machines and are not sent as a duplicate
- Responsible for all in-services with printed step-by-step guides to train nurses/ higher authority staff
- Audit all ADS machines quarterly with visitations to make sure all drawers, medications and expiration dates are correct
- Review and work with DNS to remove any control drug discrepancies to prevent diversion and keep counts correct
- Work with Order Entry to ensure all reports and medications are sent each day and entered correctly into the current AM batch
- Assist DNS to add new medication requests into ADS machine with Director/Pharmacist in Charge approval
- Travel to fix and troubleshoot hardware issues on site with phone support
- Pack, check, and tote batches, if short staffed for ADS audits
- Work with purchaser on ADS optimization project to decide what can be removed/ replaced in ADS machines to lower STAT runs/ cut cost on unused medications
- Works with Compliance to make sure all manifests and hard copy scripts are in house within a timely manner
- Work with courier service to address any issues
- The ability to adhere to Clarest’s Code of Conduct, follow Clarest Compliance policies and procedures, and report any suspected violations of any federal or state laws to either their direct supervisor, Human Resources or the Compliance Officer
Required Qualifications:
- Pharmacy Technician experience is required
- Highly motivated individual to work in an extremely fast paced environment both individually and as a part of a team
- Strong organizational skills: ability to multitask while maintaining focus on defined assignments
- Minimum of one year using Microsoft Office required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Process oriented with the ability to comprehend and complete assignments as a part of the defined workflow
- Capability to interpret data and report findings
- High degree of professionalism must be able to successfully interact with pharmacy team and members of field leadership
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills: Outlook, Word, and Excel, as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Technician preferred
