Tax and Audit Intern - Fall 2026 - Washington, D.C.

They are seeking Tax/Audit Interns to prepare tax returns, perform audit services, and support client engagements while gaining valuable industry knowledge. Responsibilities: - Prepares individual, corporate, partnership, and other types of tax returns - Performs audit, review, compilation, and other assurance services - Gains experience, exposure, and knowledge of procedures, workpapers and systems - Supports multiple client engagements on time and within budget, identifying issues and communicating progress - Expands industry knowledge, through greater exposure to peers, clients, and formal training opportunities - Completes research and special projects as needed - Communicates effectively with clients and CLA family members on a regular basis Required Qualifications: - Working towards the achievement of a bachelor's degree – Degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred - Achieving credit requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam per state requirements - General knowledge of accounting principles and reporting of financial data - Willingness to learn new technologies - Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products - Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites Required Skills: Tax return preparation, Audit services, Accounting principles, Financial data reporting, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Fall Benefits: Flexible PTO (designed to offer flexible time away for you!), Up to 12 weeks paid parental leave, Paid volunteer time off, Customized mental health programs and comprehensive medical coverage, Quarterly wellness stipend, Fertility benefits, Health, dental, vision, 401k and much more
