Job Description
Summary: The City of Topeka Government is seeking a dedicated social services professional to serve as a Program Coordinator for the Impact Avenues program. This role involves providing case management and support services for clients eligible for assistance through the McKinney-Vento Program and crisis intervention services for those referred to the Equipping Center.
Responsibilities:
- Provide full-cycle, monthly case management services to Impact Avenues clients
- Provide education to families on skillsets in regard to employment skills, budgeting, finance, and housing navigation
- Collaborate with 40+ partner agencies in the community with weekly resource events
- Advocate with a sense of urgency as a backbone organization to provide families with crisis intervention and wrap around services for long-term housing stability goals
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work or human services with one to three years of case management experience
- Without a bachelor's degree, a high school diploma or its equivalent is required with three or more years of case management experience
- Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas driver's license and must be insurable within the standards set by the City of Topeka's insurance carrier
- Experience in case management
- A passion for community engagement
- Strong interpersonal skills with an aptitude for coalition building, social media and marketing
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm in high-stress situations
