Job Description
Summary: Chromalloy is a global engineering & solutions company that provides aftermarket parts and repairs for aircraft engines and gas turbines. The NDT Technician will perform ultrasonic testing to measure casting wall thickness and ensure compliance with dimensional requirements, while maintaining accurate records of the testing process.
Responsibilities:
- Perform UT Equipment calibrations, marking product with data point locations, operation of foot pedal to store data in software program, review of data for out of tolerance readings, and cleaning product when test has been completed
- Candidates shall be able to complete 24 hours of classroom training and 275 hours of work experience/on the job training. Passing a general exam , specific exam , and practical exam is required for certification
- Ability to read and interpret documents written in English, such as safety rules, general standard procedures, and part specific work instructions
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision with at least Snellen 20/25 in one eye corrected or non- corrected
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, inspection manuals and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers and decimals
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to use sound judgement and make decisions based on all available information
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to complete 24 hours of classroom training and 275 hours of work experience/on the job training
- Passing a general exam, specific exam, and practical exam is required for certification
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear

- The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
- The employee will be required to wear eye (safety glasses), foot (steel toes), and hearing protection (ear buds)

- Although a minimal potential for exposure to radiation is possible, actual exposure is highly unlikely
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet
