Job Description
Summary: Chestnut Health Systems is a leading provider of integrated health care services, and they are seeking a Customer Service Representative to support their Granite City, IL location. This role is essential in creating a safe and welcoming environment for clients and visitors while ensuring efficient clinic operations.
Responsibilities:
- Greet clients and visitors in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner that supports a safe and welcoming environment
- Collect demographic, financial, and insurance information in person and by phone
- Verify insurance coverage and current payer eligibility
- Discuss payment plans, waivers, and fee agreements with patients in a clear and compassionate manner
- Ensure electronic medical records are complete, accurate, and up to date
- Schedule appointments and support clinic flow and access to services
- Operate standard office equipment and support front office operations
- Promote recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care principles, including hope, respect, empowerment, wellness, and connectedness
- Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive client and organizational information
- Provide additional administrative and customer service support as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong customer service and telephone communication skills
- Knowledge of standard office procedures and use of office equipment
- Good interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Basic keyboarding skills and experience using Microsoft Office products
- Ability to commute between locations as required
- Valid driver's license, private automobile insurance, and insurability
