Job Description
Summary: Chemtech Plastics, Inc. is seeking a QA Lab Technician for their 3rd shift operations. The role involves inspecting parts, performing statistical process control, and ensuring product quality meets customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Inspection of parts from each press at designated intervals
- Start-up approvals and last shot inspections
- Performing S.P.C. (Statistical Process Control)
- Monitor SPC data including conformance to Control Limits
- Complete containment of suspect product when defects are detected
- Generate Internal Corrective Action Report when necessary
- Continuous upkeep of all inspection records, logs, and retains
- Marking, tagging, and maintaining reference samples
- Follow instructions, and procedures for all aspects of the job
- Ensure that all parts produced meet all of the inspection criteria
- Ensure that finished secondary parts meet customer requirements
- To isolate, and properly tag all questionable received components and parts
- Assist the Shift Supervisor in making sure that things are being done right the first time
- Leading the shift pass-down meetings at the end of the shift
- Ensuring that necessary issues are communicated to the Shift Supervisor and the QA Floor Technician
- Other duties that may be assigned by the QA Manager
Required Qualifications:
- Must be able to use various types of inspection equipment such as: micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, vision machine, gage pins, gage blocks, Windows PC, etc
- Must have an understanding of S.P.C
- Must be able to read blueprints
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Must be able to judge subtle variations in color (color testing to be performed after hiring and to be repeated every two (2) years)
- High School education or equivalent
- Minimum one (1) year experience in an injection molding environment
- Minimum one (1) year experience in Q.A. environment
- Experience with use of vision inspection equipment
- Must be able to interact with people well
