Job Description
Summary: Carson Group is a financial services company dedicated to providing trusted advice to financial advisors and investors. They are seeking a Finance Intern to support wealth advisors by preparing client review materials, drafting paperwork, and ensuring client accounts are accurately established and maintained.
Responsibilities:
- Support wealth advisors and planners by preparing client review materials, drafting paperwork, and ensuring client accounts are accurately established and maintained
- Deliver timely, professional client service and responsive communication
- Analyze financial planning data to support recommendations under advisor direction
- Coordinate with operations to complete follow‑ups and resolve issues
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and client events as needed
- Provide positive and professional service to assigned clients
- Respond to client communications promptly and route complex questions to the appropriate advisor or team member
- Maintain confidentiality and a client‑first mindset
- Assist in developing annual client review materials
- Gather and organize planning inputs and documents
- Analyze basic to moderately complex financial planning scenarios under advisor supervision and summarize findings
- Prepare new account and maintenance paperwork accurately
- Track status of forms, signatures, and transfers
- Ensure client records and account details are complete, current, and compliant
- Interact with the operations team to coordinate planning tasks and follow‑ups
- Participate in daily advisor huddles and team meetings to align on priorities and next steps
- Attend client meetings and firm events as needed
- Capture notes and action items and assist with post‑meeting follow‑up
- Complete required trainings and continuing education activities
- Seek opportunities to expand knowledge of financial planning tools and processes
- Perform additional tasks, duties, and responsibilities as needed or assigned by leadership to support departmental and organizational objectives
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Strong organizational and time management skills required
- Strong attention to detail required
- Positive attitude and commitment to extraordinary client service required
- Ability to work in an office-based environment with occasional attendance at client meetings and firm events required
- Minimal travel required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of financial advisor office tools such as Orion and Salesforce preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field in progress or anticipated preferred
- Experience working in a professional office environment preferred
