Job Description
Summary: Caltrans District 8 is seeking an Information Technology Associate to serve as a Systems Administrator. The role involves providing IT services to computer users, maintaining end-user devices, troubleshooting applications, and ensuring the reliability and security of IT systems.
Responsibilities:
- Provide information technology services to computer users throughout the Department of Transportation (Caltrans), District 8 Offices
- Configure, deploy, and maintain end-user devices
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop and mobile applications
- Perform problem and incident management related to client technologies
- Install or repair hardware or peripheral equipment
- Test, maintain and deploy desktop images
- Conduct research and analysis of new client technologies
- Conduct end user training related to client technologies
- Update standards, procedures and controls to ensure proper installation, configuration, maintenance, security, reliability, and availability of systems and databases
- Monitor Mission Critical and/or large complex IT systems
- Track, monitor, and audit IT assets to maintain accountability using standard asset management tools and techniques in compliance with the State Administrative Manual (SAM) and other applicable policies and regulations
- Analyze, develop and document business processes utilizing industry best practices and standard methodologies
Required Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid driver's license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle

- Proficiency working with Microsoft Platforms such as Azure, Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager
- Experience providing technical service desk support to users with a proactive customer service attitude
- Experience in Contract Management
- Experience working with and configuring telecommunication devices
