Job Description
Summary: Caltrans is dedicated to improving lives and communities through transportation. The Analyst I role involves providing technical guidance to managers and supervisors regarding personnel issues, policy changes, and implementation, ensuring quality service that meets customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Provides technical guidance to managers and supervisors regarding current personnel issues, policy and procedure changes, and policy implementation
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and a commitment to providing quality service that is accurate, timely, and exceeds our customers’ expectations
Required Qualifications:
- Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment
- If you are basing your eligibility on education, you must include your unofficial transcript(s)/diploma for verification
- Unofficial, original, or official sealed transcripts will be accepted and may be required upon appointment
- Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must provide a transcript/degree U.S. equivalency report evaluation that indicates the number of units and degree to which the foreign coursework is equivalent
- The SOQ must be typed, no more than two pages in length, and 12-point Arial font
- Describe your communication style. Include an example of communication at all levels from staff to executive management
- How would you describe your approach to problem-solving? What steps do you take? Provide an example
- Describe your ability to work independently, establish priorities, develop a plan of action, and execute that plan to meet organizational goals
- Share your background in HR policies and principals and how it relates to the duty statement. If you do not have direct HR experience, explain how you have transferrable knowledge, skills, and/or abilities that will assist you to carry out the tasks in the duty statement. Be specific with your examples
