Job Description
OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY: The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspection of finished goods, packaging components, labeling materials, and raw materials using standard inspection techniques and methodology. Dispositions materials based on inspection findings in the inventory management system. Performs quality checks of finished goods during production. Responsibilities also include completion of documentation, stability program support, and issuance of controlled documents.
Accountabilities
- Perform routine and moderately complex sampling, inspections, and appropriate physical, functional, and dimensional testing of incoming raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality inspection activities to ensure inspections are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with company procedures.
- Perform sampling and inspection of raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods
- Inspection and test of packaging components utilizing various measuring devices such as scales, micrometers and height gauges to determine conformance with specifications.
- Perform quality checks of finished goods during production and document results
- Use proper gowning and sampling techniques to sample containers and prepare samples for chemical and, where required microbiological analysis and delivering them to QC Lab.
- Evaluate inspection results against established specifications.
- Review physical analysis reports for accuracy and compliance and disposition materials as determined by inspection results
- Provide support to other areas of Quality Assurance as necessary, such as issuance of controlled documents, and document review
- Maintain work area by performing routine cleanings of sampling booth, lab, and surrounding area
- Perform daily verification checks of scales utilized in production area
- Assist with retain storage program by placing samples in the program, conducting annual inspection per established procedure, and removing samples.
- Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner
- Adhere to company procedures and GMP regulations.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Maintain equipment and work areas in safe, clean, and organized condition
- Assist in opening EVENTS for activities associated with the manufacturing, processing, packing, inspection, testing, or holding of a drug product, and/or drug product component or raw material, that is out of the ordinary and may or may not have an impact in the identity, strength, quality, or safety of a product or the efficiency of a process.
- Perform other related duties as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Significant amount of walking and standing required.
- Must be able to climb ladders for sampling
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must not be colorblind.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma and a minimum of two years in an inspection and/or testing related field, preferably in a GMP or regulated industry
