Job Description
Summary: Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas (BGCD) is seeking a Development & Fundraising Intern to support their Advancement team in driving revenue for youth programming. The intern will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising operations, including donor stewardship, grant research, reporting, and event support.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with gift entry and donor record management in BGCD’s database
- Support data integrity and organization of donor information
- Help prepare donor acknowledgments and stewardship materials
- Conduct research to identify prospective foundation and corporate funders
- Review 990s, annual reports, and databases (e.g., Foundation Directory) to assess alignment with BGCD’s mission
- Compile prospect profiles and funding opportunity summaries
- Support development of grant reports and funder updates
- Track reporting deadlines and follow up with internal staff to ensure timely submission
- Assist in compiling program outcomes and impact data for funders
- Help create reports, presentations, and materials for donor stewardship
- Support preparation of impact updates and communications for funders and partners
- Assist with planning and coordination of BGCD fundraising events, including the late summer/early fall golf tournament
- Provide general support for campaigns and revenue-generating initiatives as needed
- Completed donor and prospect research profiles
- Contributions to grant reports and funder updates
- Organized tracking of reporting deadlines and deliverables
- Support materials for donor stewardship and engagement
- Event support deliverables as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Public Administration, Communications, or related field
- Strong interest in fundraising, philanthropy, or nonprofit leadership
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Strong research and writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with databases or research tools a plus
