Job Description
Summary: Boston College is a Jesuit, Catholic university located near Boston, seeking an Administrative Assistant for their Office Temp Pool. The role involves providing temporary administrative, secretarial, and office support across various departments, including duties such as data entry, record-keeping, and customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general administrative and clerical duties, including data entry, document preparation, and record-keeping
- Utilize office technology and software to manage files, compile reports, and process information
- Organize and maintain physical and digital records for easy retrieval
- Greet and assist visitors, students, and staff, providing information and directing inquiries appropriately
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail distribution
- Assist with scheduling, calendar management, and office communications
- Operate office equipment, including phones, printers, copiers, and scanners
- Provide customer service and engage in public-facing interactions to share or clarify information about department activities
Required Qualifications:
- Prior experience providing administrative or clerical support
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and have good follow through
- Ability to adapt to different work environments and team dynamics
