Job Description
Summary: BlueLinx Corporation is seeking an IT Application Software Engineer Intern to support their Information Technology organization. The intern will contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise applications, collaborating with team members and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and development of application features, user experiences, and supporting technical assets for enterprise systems, applications, and IT processes
- Develop, update, and maintain application components and related artifacts (e.g., technical documentation, configuration guides, release notes, and user support materials) using established engineering standards and best practices
- Collaborate with IT and business subject matter experts to gather requirements, analyze system workflows, and translate needs into well-defined technical specifications and implementation tasks
- Support the adoption of business applications, reporting tools, and AI-enabled technologies by contributing to solution design, implementation, and end-user enablement
- Maintain and organize project artifacts in source control, ticketing systems, and shared repositories to ensure traceability, version control, and consistency across environments
- Assist with testing, troubleshooting, and iterative refinement of application features based on stakeholder feedback, defect findings, and user needs
Required Qualifications:
- Contributing to the design, development, and ongoing enhancement of enterprise applications and related digital capabilities
- Evaluating business needs and analyzing system workflows
- Translating requirements into well-defined technical tasks and user-centered solutions
- Developing or updating application components, configurations, and supporting technical artifacts
