Staff Accountant

Summary: Bluegrass Supply Chain Services is a company that delivers innovative warehousing and logistics solutions, and they are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support key accounting functions. The role involves managing revenue, accounts receivable, general ledger activities, and compliance reporting while collaborating closely with operations and leadership for accurate financial reporting. Responsibilities: - Prepare weekly/monthly customer invoices based on contract terms - Review and interpret contracts to ensure accurate billing - Perform collections analysis and follow up on outstanding balances - Resolve billing discrepancies in partnership with operations - Prepare revenue accruals and provide variance analysis - Maintain fixed asset records and record monthly depreciation - Prepare and post journal entries - Support month-end close and investigate discrepancies - Issue monthly revenue reports to organization leadership - Prepare and file sales tax returns - Track KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives - Act as a trusted partner to Operations, HR, and Leadership - Assist with AP entry and payroll backup as needed - Provide support to the Controller and broader accounting team Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines - Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems Preferred Qualifications: - 1–3+ years of accounting experience Required Skills: Accounting, Revenue recognition, Accounts receivable, General ledger, Fixed asset accounting, Depreciation, Journal entries, Month-end close, Sales tax filing, KPI tracking, Excel, Accounting systems, manage multiple priorities, Meeting deadlines Benefits: Competitive compensation + bonus opportunity, Strong growth and development opportunities, A positive, team-oriented culture, Exposure to multiple areas of accounting and operations
