Location: Calgary, AB
Marketing & Communications Specialist
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications, the Marketing & Communications Specialist will play an integral role in supporting Bird’s corporate brand, strategic communications, and external reputation. This role spans social media, content creation, investor and media communications, project‑based stakeholder engagement, and crisis communications, working closely with executive leadership and cross‑functional teams across the organization
What You Will Be Working On
Social MediaManagement
Develop and execute social media strategies aligned with businessobjectivesincluding recruitment, proposal pursuits, and corporate reputation.
Create engaging content that strengthens Bird’s brand and resonates with key stakeholders, including clients, investors, and prospective employees.
Monitor performance metrics,provide insightsinquarterly analytics reports, and continuouslyoptimizetactics to reach our strategicobjectives.
Plan and lead major social media campaigns in support of recruitment initiatives and proposal pursuits.
ContentStrategy&Production
Supportthe planningandscriptingforvideo and multimedia content forexternal channels, marketing campaigns, and employee engagement.
Project managerequests, alongside our Content Coordinator, to develophigh‑qualitydigital assets that supportcross‑functionalbusinessobjectives.
Ensure all deliverables consistently reflect Bird’s brand standards and storytelling approach.
Investor & Media Relations
Draft press releases and investor communications to support key corporate announcements and business developments.
Collaborate with subject matter experts across the organization to ensure communications areaccurate,timely, and aligned.
Provide media relations support including managing media inquiries, preparing spokespeople, and developing Q&As and key messages.
Support executive communications, includingearningscall scripts and investor presentations.
Amplify investor communications throughappropriate digitaland social channels.
Stakeholder Relations(Corporate Liaison)
Support communications planning and execution for government andpublic‑sectorconstruction projects.
Participate in regular stakeholder and client meetings asrequired.
Draft stakeholder protocols,issuesmanagementresponses, and media inquiry procedures.
Act as a point of contactbetweencompanyand the client/stakeholder group.
Crisis Communications
Support crisis communications planning and execution, including response protocols and stakeholder messaging.
Advise internal teams on aligned internal and external communications during incidents orhigh‑impactevents.
Draft and coordinate communications to support risk management, compliance, and reputation protection.
Helpmaintainworkflowfor consistent,timelyinformation flow during routine and crisis scenarios.
What We Are Looking For
Post‑secondaryeducation in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
Experience in corporate communications, marketing, media relations, or digital content development.
Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to tailor messaging for varied audiences and platforms.
Experience managing social media channels and analyzing performance metrics.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in afast‑paced,deadline‑drivenenvironment.
Collaborative mindset with confidence working alongside executives, operations, and external partners.
Experience managing a direct report and collaborating closely with peers.
Experience within the construction industryconsideredan asset.
