Job Description
Summary: Billings Clinic is a community-owned, not-for-profit health system known for its outstanding quality of care and advanced technology. The IT Analyst role involves providing information technology planning and configuration support, collaborating with various disciplines to enhance Information Services, and ensuring optimal outcomes through research and project management.
Responsibilities:
- Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic’s mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations
- Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements
- Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance
- Designs, implements and evaluates Information Services functions to cost effectively improve organizational outcomes throughout Billings Clinic
- Promotes Information Services across the organization, utilizing technical knowledge, theory and technical skills to promote optimal outcomes through best practice
- Serves as technical resource for customers, staff, physicians and administration
- Collaborates with multiple disciplines to organize and coordinate technology enhancements to improve Information Services outcomes
- Serves as a technical resource for system-wide teams/tasks forces
- Identifies technical problems/issues needing research
- Uses appropriate research-based tools, techniques, and methodologies to conduct research and ensure best practice
- Analyzes data to identify trends that impact Information Services outcomes and cost containment
- Utilizes research to develop technical competencies and other standards/guidelines for Information Services
- Provides regular communication to all members of the project team as well as all clients involved in the project
- Trains or coordinates training for clients in the use of various IS tools
- Assesses and analyzes functional requirements for new systems acquisitions and technical requirements in conformance with IS standards
- Gather and analyze general information from vendors for the purpose of summarizing and comparing new product selections
- Assist multidisciplinary teams in the selection and acquisition of new systems Technology Management
- Assists clients, at all levels of the organization, in implementation of system-minded solutions
- Conducts ongoing monitoring of assigned technology to be sure of optimal usage of the application(s)
- Recommends software and/or hardware upgrades and changes related to a technology enhancement or change
- Aids vendor support representatives with logging and reviewing of all software improvements
- Coordinates with other Information Services team members in the resolution of communications, hardware and software problems in a timely manner
- Works with customers in researching technology problems
- Identifies and implements solutions for these problems in a timely manner
- Reports critical problem situations promptly to the appropriate Information Services leadership team member
- Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements
- Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and seeks opportunities to contribute to Billings Clinic organization-wide learning initiatives
- Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency environmental, employee or patient safety standards relevant to job performance
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum High School or GED High school graduate or equivalent
- Prior IT experience desirable
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 Year / Associate Degree Associates degree from an approved institution in a related field, preferred or must be pursuing certification in or working towards a degree
