Job Description
Summary: Belmark inc is seeking a Quality Process Intern to join their team. This role will involve supporting the execution of the corrective action/preventive action (CAPA) system and driving quality improvements within the assigned area. The intern will assist with customer complaints, data analysis, and process improvements while gaining valuable experience in the quality management field.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible to follow all safety procedures as required by the role, and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements
- Support customer complaints and internal quality events:
- Gather information, collect data and isolate suspect material
- Operate a wide variety of test equipment to help identify root cause associated with CAPAs
- Assist with product returns: document item quantities and determine material disposition
- Process/Sort Returns
- Support the execution of corrective and preventive action plans
- Help provide solutions to meet customers’ needs
- Support the effectiveness of documented CAPA’s
- File CAPA correspondence, relevant information and job jackets/retains
- Help with data analysis and work with plant or area leadership to develop action plans to address
- Assist with process improvements for Quality with the support of plant or area leadership
- With the support of plant or area leadership, assist with the implementation of technology changes that support customer complaint preventive action
- Assists with performing audits as needed
- Assists with documentation and implementation of standard operating procedures and internal test methods
- Learn fundamental problem-solving skills and improve these skills to allow for the identification of process improvement opportunities
- Develop improved communication and professional skills working cross-functionally to become a well-rounded candidate for future full-time employment
- May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Required Qualifications:
- Student enrolled full time at an accredited university pursuing a bachelor or associates degree. Some applicable majors may include Engineering Technology, Packaging, Graphics Communications Management and Business Management
- Must have excellent problem solving skills
- Must be able to communicate and work effectively
- Must be able to communicate and answer questions in a professional and friendly manner
- Ability to operate a computer and a variety of testing and office equipment
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow implicit and explicit written and oral directions
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, decimals and fractions
- Ability to effectively utilize (writing, speaking, reading) the English language
- Regular attendance is an essential function of the position. May be required to work some overtime
- Ability to hear and talk for up to 90% of work time
- Ability to: stand for 25% of work time; walk for 25% of work time; and sit for 50% of work time
- Ability to: reach above shoulders 10% of work time; and lift up to 50 pounds for less than 15% of work time
- Ability to: see clearly at 20 inches or less; identify and distinguish colors; and to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus
