Paint Team Operator (Temp to Hire) 1st Shift

As a Paint Team Operator, you will be responsible for operating the Powder Coat System and ensuring quality production through various tasks such as inspecting painted parts and performing color changeovers. Responsibilities: - Maintain and operate the Powder Coat System to keep production running smoothly and minimize downtime - Load bulk powder into the hopper and ensure the paint viscosity is correct - Inspect painted parts for quality and make repairs as needed - Use gauges and other test equipment to decide whether parts meet quality standards or need to be repaired or rejected - Support daily production by moving trolleys, turning parts, operating powder coat guns, and racking or unracking parts as needed - Review production schedules from assembly departments and determine the best sequence of operations, considering color changes and timing - Work closely with supervisors and lead personnel from other departments to keep parts flowing smoothly between suppliers and customers - Perform color changeovers as directed, including sweeping and blowing down the booth, cleaning guns, moving hoppers, reconnecting hoses, and adjusting cyclone hoses and bands - Disassemble and clean spray guns as required, following special cleaning procedures to recover as much powder material as possible - Take responsibility for both the quality and quantity of work produced - Participate in team meetings, problem‑solving activities, and continuous improvement efforts - Communicate issues or improvement ideas clearly to team members - Follow all standard work instructions and procedures, and document production data as needed to support quality, scheduling, and troubleshooting efforts - Evaluate defective materials, tooling issues, unsafe conditions, or potential production stoppages, and recommend solutions when appropriate - Help train, instruct, and support new or existing employees to ensure consistent quality and smooth operations - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times, and follow all safety rules and regulations Required Qualifications: - High School Diploma or (GED) General Education Degree - Lifting 40‑lb. bags of powder paint - Upper body strength to safely operate spray guns during normal shifts - Applicants must be authorized to work for an employer in the U.S Required Skills: Powder coating, Electrostatic powder coat equipment operation, Wet spray painting, Quality inspection, Basic maintenance of powder coat system, Use of gauges, test equipment, Color changeover procedures, Spray gun cleaning, Production scheduling, Safety compliance Benefits: Medical and dental coverage that start on day one, Insurance coverage for basic life, accident, short-term and long-term disability, and business travel accident insurance, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), with the ability to purchase company stock at a discount, 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan (RSP), with options for employee contributions and company matching, Flexible Spending Accounts, Educational assistance programs, Paid holidays, Paid time off ranging from 20 to 35 days based on length of service, Family and medical leaves of absence, Paid parental leave, Commuting benefits, Employee Discount Program, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Childcare benefits
