Job Title: Logistics Labor Lead – BDI
Location: Pasco, Washington
Shift: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 5:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Position Purpose
Basin Disposal, Inc. is seeking a reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented Logistics Labor Lead to support daily logistics and field operations. This hands-on leadership role serves as a key connection between frontline labor staff and management, ensuring efficient work coordination, strong safety compliance, quality service delivery, and operational readiness across yard, field, and drop site activities.
The Logistics Labor Lead combines daily operational execution with leadership responsibilities to support workforce readiness, service consistency, and a positive team culture.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership & Daily Operations

Conduct daily morning launch and pre-shift meetings.

Coordinate and support daily activities of delivery drivers and yard labor staff.

Assign and adjust daily work based on operational needs, absenteeism, workload changes, and seasonal demands.

Maintain a visible leadership presence in yard and field environments.

Provide relief coverage during absences, emergencies, or peak periods to ensure continuity of operations.
Training, Coaching & Team Support

Train and onboard new hires on equipment operation, route procedures, safety standards, and customer service expectations.

Provide cross-training to support flexibility across driver, attendant, and yard roles.

Observe field and yard staff for performance, service quality, paperwork accuracy, and safety compliance.

Deliver real-time coaching, guidance, and corrective feedback as needed.
Yard & Equipment Oversight

Monitor cleaning, servicing, and repair of portable toilets and containers.

Ensure equipment, units, and materials are properly staged and ready for dispatch.

Coordinate with inventory control and maintenance teams to support operational readiness.
Communication & Reporting

Maintain clear communication with Route Managers, Dispatch, and Operations leadership.

Escalate safety, mechanical, service, or customer issues promptly.

Document safety observations, coaching discussions, and performance concerns in accordance with company policy.
Safety Oversight

Reinforce PPE usage, safe lifting techniques, safe driving practices, and hygiene protocols.

Monitor for unsafe behaviors or equipment misuse.

Participate in incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions as required.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.

Frequent walking, standing, bending, climbing, and working outdoors.

Exposure to weather conditions, equipment noise, and operational environments.

Flexibility to work early mornings or extended shifts as business needs require.
Qualifications
Required
-
High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Prior experience in logistics, field operations, yard operations, or similar environments.

Demonstrated leadership or lead-worker experience.

Knowledge of safety practices and operational procedures.

Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.

Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
-
CDL or ability to obtain (if applicable).

Experience in waste, sanitation, logistics, or service-based operations.

Familiarity with dispatch systems, route management, or inventory control.

Experience training or onboarding frontline employees.
