Job Description
Summary: Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) is seeking a Technical Program Manager for their Cabin Power Electronics Group in Kirkland, WA. The role involves managing the design, development, and introduction of new products into production while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical point of contact for resolving complex engineering issues with innovation and analytical expertise
- Oversee hardware/software design verification testing
- Coordinate aircraft OEM qualification testing (e.g., Boeing and Airbus) and offerability processes
- Engage with customer representatives, including buyers and subcontract managers, providing schedule updates, gathering feedback, and facilitating issue resolution
- Support price and delivery negotiations in collaboration with the contract administration team
- Lead proposal efforts for small, non-complex projects
- Collaborate on new product or product upgrade proposal activities, aligning with agreed schedules
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, including statements of work and other terms and conditions
- Develop budgets for research projects and development programs, monitoring expenditures throughout
- Manage program schedules for the entire product development lifecycle to ensure timely program delivery
- Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks while capitalizing on opportunities
- Drive process optimization by identifying inefficiencies and eliminating unnecessary steps in engineering workflows
- Incorporate lessons learned into organizational design guidelines to improve future projects
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field required; Electrical Engineering highly preferred
- Associate Technical Program Manager (ATPM): At least 1+ year of relevant experience
- Technical Program Manager (TPM): A minimum of 5+ years of experience in similar roles
- Proficiency in program management tools including MS Project, MS Office, Requirements Management, and Configuration Management
- Hands-on experience with new product introduction (NPI) and familiarity with engineering validation processes
- Background in a highly regulated industry, preferably Aerospace or Medical Devices
- ITAR Compliance: Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR regulations)
- Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a background check and drug screening, including cannabis testing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong track record in New Product Introduction (NPI) experience in the Aerospace industry is highly preferred
- Knowledge of DO-160 testing is highly desirable
