Job Description
Summary: Arcus Housing is a San Francisco Bay Area-based real estate company focused on residential property management, development, and construction. They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Real Estate Development Project Intern to gain hands-on exposure to real estate development, construction management, and property operations while working closely with company leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing residential real estate development and construction projects from acquisition through completion
- Coordinate with architects, designers, consultants, contractors, and vendors throughout all phases of development
- Support onsite project activities including material selections, ordering windows, doors, appliances, finishes, and coordinating deliveries
- Help oversee project schedules, budgets, timelines, and overall construction progress
- Monitor construction quality and assist with punch-list and project closeout activities
- Participate in contract and vendor coordination, bid collection, and cost analysis
- Assist with value engineering efforts to help control costs and maximize project returns
- Work closely with management on project planning, problem-solving, and operational tasks
- Support management of the company’s residential rental portfolio, including:
- Coordinating maintenance and repairs
- Communicating with vendors
- Assisting with tenant screening and leasing activities
- Helping oversee day-to-day property operations
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a college degree
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Strong follow-up and communication skills via phone, email, and text
- Comfortable working both in the office and onsite at active projects
- Interest in real estate development, construction, and entrepreneurship
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a small, dynamic company environment
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and highly detail-oriented
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude
- Comfortable adapting to changing priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Excel, and general productivity software
