Job Description
Summary: Arcosa, Inc. is seeking a Systems Analyst summer Intern based in their Dallas, TX Headquarters office. The intern will assist the Enterprise Data Scientist through hands-on experience working across multiple projects, contributing to systems-level analysis and data-driven operational improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting systems-level analysis of infrastructure, manufacturing, and transportation operations to help assess performance and identify potential inefficiencies across Arcosa’s portfolio
- Support the modeling and evaluation of production processes, capacity utilization, supply chain networks, and logistics flows to contribute to data-driven operational improvements
- Apply and develop skills in quantitative methods such as optimization, statistical analysis, and data analytics to help solve engineering and operational problems
- Help build and maintain decision models to evaluate risk, compare alternatives, and support strategic planning under the guidance of senior team members
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand how assets, processes, and supply chains can be integrated and optimized within broader systems
- Assist in synthesizing large sets of engineering and operational data into clear, structured insights using data visualization and analytical tools for internal stakeholders
- Perform additional duties and provide general team support as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Systems Science and Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a closely related quantitative engineering field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a foundational understanding of quantitative modeling, optimization, statistical analysis, and data analytics, and a willingness to further develop these skills
- Demonstrated ability to apply systems-level thinking to evaluate complex operational and engineering problems
- Experience with analytical tools including Microsoft Excel for data analysis and modeling
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to support multiple projects
- Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to team objectives
- Ability to work in Dallas
