Environmental Engineer

Summary: APTIM is a leading professional solutions firm specializing in environmental, sustainability, resilience, and infrastructure solutions. They are seeking an entry level Engineer or Scientist to support inspection and characterization activities at Redstone Arsenal, focusing on environmental data collection and bioremediation treatment systems. Responsibilities: - Collection, documentation, and interpretation of field environmental data for management review and incorporation into project documents - Through mentoring (provided by APTIM) develop skills and expertise to assist with design of bioremediation treatment systems - Utilization of various field sampling and monitoring equipment, including knowledge of equipment calibration and maintenance - Monitor effectiveness of bioremediation treatment systems through field monitoring - Analyze and prepare raw data into workable form for engineering/scientific project reports and other project documents - Conformance to applicable regulatory codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures - Adherence to established schedule and budgets for the performance of field and office work activities - Work collaboratively in a team environment, provide input on technical, project, and safety issues - Possess a "Safety First" work ethic Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Scientific Discipline - Possess 0-2 years of relevant industry experience - Valid Driver's License with Clean Driving Record required - Possess or have ability to readily obtain 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification - Ability to wear proper PPE for work on hazardous waste sites; lifting and physical work will be required - Core competency in Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - Must be able to work in the field in all types of field conditions/weather - Willingness to work occasional overtime, including weekends, to meet project deadlines - Ability to travel for field assignments Required Skills: Bioremediation design, Environmental data analysis, Field sampling techniques Important Skills: OSHA HAZWOPER certification, Microsoft Office proficiency Nice-to-Have Skills: Safety work ethic Benefits: Medical, vision, and dental insurance: Through the marketplace, our employees can choose benefits from five metallic levels and several carriers to find the right benefits that work for them in their location., Company paid and optional Life insurance, Short-term and long-term disability insurance, Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity coverage, Paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave (eligibility based on company policy and applicable law), 401(k) APTIM offers three 401k plans through the Aon Pooled Employer Plan (PEP).
