Job Description
Summary: Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions used to produce virtually every new chip and advanced display in the world. The RF Engineer Intern will be responsible for designing, modifying, and troubleshooting electrical engineering assemblies and will conduct electromagnetic simulations while working under direct supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct electromagnetic simulations of various plasma chambers/assemblies
- Coordinate the design, procurement and assembly of RF related assemblies with electrical or electronic components and equipment, and identify sources of critical parts and subsystems
- Design or modify RF/Electrical engineering assemblies, layouts, schematics, drawings, or specifications of limited scope under direct supervision
- Perform basic engineering analysis under direct supervision; use existing procedures to solve standard problems
- Perform and generate basic engineering test reports
- Generate related alpha/gamma documentation for product releases
- Use engineering processes to troubleshoot and resolve a variety of basic or moderately difficult electrical problems of limited scope
Required Qualifications:
- Working towards a Bachelor's degree (completed third year)
- 6~12 months of related experience (in college or outside)
- Comfortable using various electrical measurement/testing equipment including Oscilloscope, Network Analyzers, etc
- Knowledge of the fundamental theories and concepts of electrical engineering and electromagnetism
Preferred Qualifications:
- A basic understanding of design circuits, technical documentation, component selection, project management and ergonomic safety
