Job Description
Summary: Apple is where extraordinary people gather to do their best work. The Advanced Development Lab team supports R&D across product lines with cutting-edge prototyping, characterization, and metrology equipment, and they are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative individual to support lab operations.
Responsibilities:
- Help implement and maintain lab policies and guidelines. Communicate lab-related updates and requirements clearly to all users
- Work with the Environmental Health and Safety team to maintain compliance with state, local, and Apple safety protocols
- Support day-to-day lab operations, including scheduling, space coordination, security compliance, vendor escort coordination, and general facilities activities
- Assist with lab initiatives, including equipment installations, lab build-outs, and capability expansions. Help coordinate timelines, communicate with stakeholders, and track project status
- Assist with preventative maintenance activities and equipment calibration to help minimize downtime
- Support procurement, inventory tracking, and management of laboratory equipment, tools, and consumable parts
- Provide basic Mac and PC hardware and software support related to lab equipment and testing
- Learn lab instrumentation to support users and troubleshoot basic equipment issues. Occasionally assist with hands-on test execution, data collection, characterization, and validation activities when additional lab capacity is needed
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, Associate's degree with relevant technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 1+ years of experience in lab operations, technical support, facilities, manufacturing, or related technical environments (internships and academic lab experience count)
- Hands-on experience with equipment operation or demonstrated willingness to learn technical systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in R&D lab environments, engineering support, or technical operations
- Familiarity with lab equipment, basic maintenance procedures, or safety protocols
- Exposure to fabrication tools (3D printers, laser cutters, machine shop equipment)
- Project coordination or process improvement experience
- Experience with test/characterization equipment or calibration processes
- Background working in cross-functional technical teams
