Job Description
Summary: The American Enterprise Institute is seeking an intern for their Center for the Future of the American University. The intern will assist Senior Fellows with research on higher education reform and civic thought, while also providing administrative support and organizing events.
Responsibilities:
- Researching primary and secondary sources
- Using scholarly databases and academic libraries
- Monitoring ongoing debates in higher education and civic thought
- Analyzing public and academic writing in fields such as political philosophy and sociology
- Editing
- Writing
- Organizing events
- Providing administrative assistance as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated interest in civic education, political philosophy, and the theory and history of the liberal arts
- Strong research and writing abilities
- Intellectual curiosity
- Self-directed work ethic
- Ability to participate in the program in person for 25-40 hours per week
- GPA of 3.5 or higher from a top-ranking college or university
