Job Description
Summary: America's Essential Hospitals is focused on enhancing community-integrated health care and quality improvement within healthcare delivery systems. The Health Program Associate will support project management, conduct research, and collaborate with teams to improve quality and patient outcomes for member hospitals.
Responsibilities:
- Supports development of and executes project management plans to meet project timelines and keep tasks on schedule
- Serves as a secondary point of contact for projects
- Adjusts schedules and activities as needs occur
- Collaborates with senior staff in managing relationships with external organizations
- Provides programmatic support, such as scheduling, note-taking, meeting planning, webinar execution, or data entry
- Conducts research – e.g. environmental scans, literature reviews, interview support etc. – for the purpose of drafting content for data collection tools, webinars, newsletters, websites, meetings, surveys, briefs, etc
- Develops first draft materials for the purpose of member engagement
- Drafts findings (briefs, newsletters, presentations) and presents findings in a clear, concise, and effective manner
- Serves as a resource to senior staff to respond to short-term information requests to support member hospitals
- Actively participates in team activities, and provides support and backup for team members
- Collaborates with leadership and teams to provide insight and guidance on programmatic strategies
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in public health, business, public policy, communications, or relevant field of study
- A minimum of 1 year of demonstrated experience in research, healthcare or other related field required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other digital tools
- Proven ability to summarize data and clearly and insightfully communicate findings verbally, graphically, and in writing
- Strong organizational skills and general understanding of project management processes
- Ability to multitask and reprioritize under strict deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
- Behavior consistent with association core values
- Personal and professional integrity; an independent and confident thinker; and able to take the initiative even when confronted with ambiguity
- Ability to live in MD, DC, and VA and commute to the Washington DC office as scheduled
- Ability to travel occasionally as needed

Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of health and hospital systems strongly preferred
