Job Description
Summary: Ally Financial is a customer-centric, leading digital financial services company. The Analyst will support the Advantage Finance and Accounting Release Management & Delivery team by gathering accounting requirements, writing test cases, and validating accounting for defects and new requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Gather accounting requirements and write accounting test cases
- Validation of accounting for defects, workarounds, and new requirements (reviewing test results to ensure system is behaving as expected)
- Collaborate as part of a team to resolve and troubleshoot issues
- Research general ledger transactions in Workday and various subsystems including ALFA
- Perform analyses using Excel, PowerBI, SQL and COGNOS
- Partner with Business Unit personnel to understand various auto finance transactions
- Document processes and findings
- Support and assist the Advantage Finance & Accounting team on various projects as needed
Required Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ year of Accounting or Finance experience
- BS/BBA degree in Accounting/Finance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient MS Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
- Cognos, PowerBI, and/or SQL experience
- Auto Finance industry experience
- Strong attention to detail balanced with knowing the right level necessary to deliver on requirements
- Energetic and inquisitive, quick learner, takes initiative, team player and able to multi task
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbal
- Ability to organize data, perform independent analysis, provide and articulate explanations to management
