Job Description
Summary: Allied Universal®, North America’s leading security and facility services company, offers rewarding careers that provide you a sense of purpose. As a Security Officer - Gate Access Specialist in Hardeeville, SC, you will manage access control, greet drivers and visitors, check credentials, and conduct routine patrols to ensure safety at a busy logistics and distribution location.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and employees by following site-specific security-related procedures, access requirements, and emergency response activities
- Operate access control at entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining logs, and directing individuals to approved locations
- Control vehicle and trailer access for a logistics and distribution location by checking shipments, seals, and paperwork as required, coordinating with shipping and receiving, and helping to deter unauthorized entry
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying site leadership and/or emergency services when needed
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, warehouse areas, and perimeter, reporting hazards, suspicious activity, and policy violations through required reports and/or systems
Required Qualifications:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
Preferred Qualifications:
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred
- Customer service experience is preferred
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred
