JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
The Starbucks Manager leads the in-store Starbucks operation, ensuring exceptional beverage quality, outstanding customer service, and strong financial performance. This role is responsible for daily operations, partner development, and maintaining brand standards while creating a welcoming and engaging café experience.
Key Responsibilities Department Operations
• Oversee all Starbucks operations including beverage preparation, food service, and inventory management
• Ensure full compliance with Starbucks brand standards, recipes, and presentation guidelines
• Manage ordering, inventory levels, and waste control
• Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked work and service areas
Customer Experience
• Create a warm, welcoming, and engaging café environment
• Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality beverages and food items
• Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally
• Encourage partner (employee) engagement to enhance the overall experience
Team Leadership & Development
• Hire, train, and develop Starbucks partners
• Provide coaching on beverage standards, customer service, and speed of service
• Create effective schedules based on business trends and staffing needs
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and team-focused culture
Financial Performance
• Drive sales through product quality, speed, and suggestive selling
• Manage labor, inventory, and waste to meet financial targets
• Monitor key performance metrics including sales, margin, and productivity
Safety & Compliance
• Ensure strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
• Follow all Starbucks and company operational policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe work environment for partners and customers
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous coffee shop, food service, or retail management experience preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of Starbucks operations and beverage preparation is a plus
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
Physical Requirements
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in a café environment with exposure to heat, noise, and equipment use

Pay Transparency:
Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay*, PTO/Vacation pay*, paid holidays*, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis.
*For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.
