Job Description
Summary: Albertsons Companies is a leading food and drug retailer in the U.S., operating over 2,200 stores. The Bakery Clerk serves as a primary contact for customers, providing friendly service, wrapping and pricing bakery goods, and maintaining the bakery area.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service as currently defined by the employer within the scope of the position and within company policy
- Operate shrink wrapper and bread slicer to prepare goods for sale
- Maintain cleanliness of bakery area of the store. Includes cleaning display cases, work surfaces, and preparing and straightening up bakery display areas
- Replace stock in bakery area as needed
- Move trays of bakery goods from preparation area to display area
- Monitor bakery area to locate expired or nearly expired bakery goods for markdown or throw away
- Use various sales reports to identify sales opportunities. Uses intercom to communicate sale items
- Use price labeling machine and place price sticker on packaged item
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to follow company customer service procedures
- Demonstrated prior customer service skills or related experience
- Ability to interact with customers and co-workers
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Required Skills: Operating bread slicer, Using price labeling machine, Inventory recording, Operating shrink wrapper, follow directions
