Job Description
Summary: Albert Einstein College of Medicine is seeking a Research Technician B to join their Medicine - Pulmonary department. The role involves performing various technical procedures, assisting in laboratory tasks, and occasionally analyzing data under supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a moderate number of simple or moderate technical procedures including:
- Mouse tail clipping (low complexity and weekly)
- Genotyping with mouse tails (Low complexity weekly)
- Preparation of laboratory solutions (low complexity weekly/monthly)
- Mouse necropsy with supervision and assistance (medium complexity monthly or less with supervision)
- Require occasional guidance
- Occasionally be responsible for ordering routine supplies
- Rarely modify technical procedures
- Rarely train other lab members
- Rarely guide other lab members
- A simple / limited understanding of scientific literature and the research goals and rationale is required
- Occasionally analyze data
- Rarely interpret data
- Rarely make written contributions to papers and grant proposals
Required Qualifications:
- Required to have at least a Bachelor's Degree in a related science or equivalent skills and related experience
- Zero to two years of related experience
- A simple / limited understanding of scientific literature and the research goals and rationale is required
