Job Description
The Strategic Program Manager (AMG) is responsible for leading the GPD strategy and program management cadence. This role partners closely with AMG and Enterprise Strategy to translate strategic priorities into actionable roadmaps. The manager owns the annual strategy planning process for GPD, drives governance and execution oversight across key strategic initiatives (including NPI activities and cross-functional programs), and acts as chief-of-staff to the GPD senior leadership team to ensure alignment, disciplined decision-making, and clear communication across the organization.
Key Accountabilities
Lead strategy development for GPD, interfacing across the business and liaising with AMG & Enterprise Strategy teams.
Run the annual strategy planning process, consolidate inputs, prepare executive materials, and establish execution plans and success measures.
Provide program management governance for NPI activities, including review cadence, milestone tracking, and escalation of risks/issues.
Consolidate M&A scanning, evaluation, business case justification, and execution activities with stakeholders.
Operate as chief of staff for the GPD senior leadership team, owning operating rhythm, decisions/actions tracking, and leadership communications.
Serve as a key liaison for AMG and Enterprise strategy programs, ensuring alignment and coordinated execution.
Lead communication of strategy across GPD teams to enable understanding, alignment, and engagement.
About the Role
The role brings structure to ambiguous, cross-functional work, ensuring priorities are translated into clear plans, governance, and communications. Success requires strong executive-level stakeholder management, fluency with business strategy and portfolio/program governance, and the ability to influence without authority across a global matrix.
Responsibilities
Lead strategic and cross-functional programs for GPD, partnering with AMG and Enterprise stakeholders.
Define program scope, success measures, governance, timeline, and integrated workplan.
Translate strategy into executable initiatives and decision-ready materials.
Drive execution rigor: milestone tracking, KPI reporting, dependency management, and proactive risk/issue management.
Identify, surface, and escalate critical decisions, risks, and trade-offs; recommend options and mitigation paths.
Build and execute stakeholder communication and change approach.
Plan and facilitate executive and cross-functional forums, capturing decisions and actions.
Coordinate annual strategy planning deliverables and ensure alignment across the portfolio.
Ensure operational handover of deliverables and closure documentation at program completion.
Continuously improve program management standards and templates.
Demonstrate ownership and bias for action—anticipate obstacles, drive resolution, and unblock teams.
Synthesize complex information into crisp insights and recommendations for senior leaders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s/MBA preferred)
10+ years of experience in program/project/portfolio management, strategy & operations, consulting, or related roles
Strong business acumen and experience with strategic planning and governance rhythms
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage at senior leadership level
Ability to manage complexity and uncertainty while maintaining attention to detail and delivery discipline
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $143,760.00 - $269,550.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
