Description
The primary function of the Account Representative is to market alternative transportation to commuters in the St. Louis region. The position is responsible for conducting outreach and developing employer partnerships to promote carpooling and vanpooling as workplace transportation solutions and the mitigation of traffic for cleaner air. Furthermore, the position supports ACT’s purpose and objectives by respecting and adhering to all policies and procedures of the Agency.
Essential Functions includes but are not limited to:
- Identifies marketing opportunities within communities through communications, programs and other activities as needed (e.g. contacting organizations, scheduling meetings/events, surveys, marketing campaigns).
- Initiates and follows-up with potential clients through telemarketing and cold calling to promote ridesharing (e.g., vanpooling and carpooling) and other modes of travel.
- Telephones prospects to identify appropriate contacts.
- Exercises proactive contact of existing clients by answering questions, completing surveys, and responding to requests for information and engaging partnership opportunities.
- Keeps management informed of all activity, including timely preparation of reports.
- Remains knowledgeable and up to date on changes and developments in alternative modes of transportation in the service area.
- Represents RideFinders at all events as required (e.g., participating on various committees, assisting clients with ridematching, and tabling at promotional events).
- Be aware of the potential safety and security factors throughout the transit facility and to follow all applicable policies and procedures of the Agency. Responsible to report any known or potential safety and/or security factor immediately to an appropriate supervisor, including any employee not following the policies and/or safety procedures.
- Attends work regularly and ready to perform duties.

Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Business Administration or Marketing related field.
- Experience in public speaking, management or communications preferred.
- Ability to use Microsoft software and learn other applications as needed. Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
- Must be able to make verbal presentations in front of a large audience.
- Possess well developed customer service skills and excellent phone etiquette.
- Strong ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be comfortable making cold calls and multiple follow-up calls as needed.
- Written communication skill level to allow for preparation of correspondence and materials with minimal guidance.
- Experience working both independently and as a team member; to work accurately with attention to detail; to manage and prioritize multiple tasks; and to work with shifting priorities and schedules.
- Must be comfortable driving throughout the nine-county metropolitan region in company vehicle.
- Customer service, sales or marketing experience is preferred.
- Spanish speaking is a plus. and presentation skills are essential to the position.
- Clean and neat appearance.
- Hold and maintain a current driver’s license and approved driving record.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Normal working conditions for this position are typical of an office environment. The position requires a capacity to work a flexible schedule and work outside of the standard office hours when needed. Daily travel within the service region is routine.
The physical requirements of the position include sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment. Must have ability to sit for long periods of time. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone.
