Summary
The IT Support Specialist provides Tier 1–3 technical support across the organization while also serving as a key resource for operational technology (OT) environments. This role bridges traditional IT support with oversight of Industrial Automation systems, IoT device ecosystems, and machine-embedded controls. The specialist ensures reliable system performance, secure data flow, and effective integration between enterprise IT and industrial/operational systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Deliver Tier 1–3 IT support for hardware, software, networking, and user accounts.
· Maintain workstations, mobile devices, and core IT infrastructure.
· Monitor and troubleshoot Industrial Automation dashboards, sensors, alarms, and communication paths.
· Support IoT devices, gateways, and sensor networks, including connectivity and firmware updates.
· Assist with diagnostics and maintenance of embedded controllers and machine-level systems.
· Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to maintain uptime and system reliability.
· Contribute to cybersecurity practices for IT/OT systems and maintain documentation.

· Industrial Automation Systems Monitor — Oversee dashboards, alarms, sensors, and communication paths to ensure operational uptime.
· IoT Device Administrator — Manage sensors, gateways, connectivity, firmware updates, and device health.
· Embedded Systems Support — Assist with diagnostics and maintenance of machine-level controllers and automation components.
· IT/OT Integration Coordinator — Work with engineering and operations teams to maintain secure, reliable cross-system communication.
· Cybersecurity Contributor — Support security practices, documentation, and compliance for IT and OT environments.

Education & Experience Requirements
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and 2–5 years of IT support experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
· Experience with Industrial Automation, IoT devices, or embedded/industrial systems.
· Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networks.
· Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and basic networking concepts.
· Preferred: experience with PLCs, HMIs, automation platforms, or OT security.

Physical Demands
This role involves periods of sitting while working on computers, along with regular movement through office and manufacturing areas. The technician must be able to lift and carry computer hardware and related equipment—typically up to 25–40 lbs—and occasionally bend, reach, or work in tight spaces during installations or repairs.
