Must have skills : Cobol Mainframe Good to have skills : NA Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education Summary: As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by investigating and resolving issues across various components of essential business systems. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying problems, analyzing system behavior, and ensuring the smooth operation of critical applications. The position demands continuous interaction with different teams to maintain system stability and support business continuity through effective problem-solving and timely interventions. Roles & Responsibilities: - Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform. - Responsible for team decisions. - Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions. - Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams. - Lead efforts to improve system reliability and performance through innovative approaches. - Mentor junior team members to enhance their technical and problem-solving skills. - Coordinate with stakeholders to align support activities with business objectives. Professional & Technical Skills: - Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Cobol Mainframe. - Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex software issues within mainframe environments. - Experience in debugging and troubleshooting batch and online processes in critical business applications. - Ability to work with legacy systems and understand their integration with modern technologies. - Familiarity with system monitoring tools and incident management processes. - Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
