Your role and responsibilities
As aResearchScientist, you will be working on sensing solutionsforABB’s next generation systems and products. We are looking for a team member with a proven researchtrack recordand the eagerness to transfer and apply world class academic research into an industrial environment. You will bemainly accountablefor:
Contributing to and leading research projects insensingandmachineperception addressing the needs of our businesses, with applicationsincludingprocess automation, process industries,portautomation, or maritime transport.
Together with multidisciplinary project teams, develop novel, high-value sensingproductsand solutions from the concept definition phase to the experimental verification
Evaluatenew technologiesand conduct technical surveys, generate project proposals with business impact and collaborate with researchers and engineers from other researchcentres, ABB business units, as well as from universities
Disseminate your results with scientific publications and internal technical reports, generate intellectual property
Qualifications for the role
PhD inComputer Science, ElectricalEngineering,Roboticsor in arelatedfield.Strong backgroundinmachine perceptionandcomputer vision
Expertiseinanyof the followingfieldsisan advantage:machine learning,reinforcement learning,sensorfusion,digitalsignal processing
Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C/C++) and familiarity with the Linux ecosystem
Hands-on experience with sensing hardware and softwareframeworksfor cameras, LIDAR, or radar is a plus(e.g.OpenCV, ROS2)
Proven publicationtrack recordat top scientific conferences and journals
Team player attitude. Willingness to learn newindustrialapplications andwork ona broad range oftechnologies.
Excellentcommunication and presentationskillsinEnglish.
