Summary:
Software Engineering Manager is a principal-level role responsible for strategic software initiatives and enterprise-level system design. This position drives innovation, sets technical direction, and ensures alignment with AAON’s long-term business goals. The role requires deep technical expertise and strong leadership across teams. The Software Engineering Manager oversees the development of complex systems and leads enterprise-wide software strategies. The role influences technology decisions and ensures scalability, security, and performance.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Define and lead enterprise software architecture.
Set technical standards and best practices across teams.
Collaborate with executive leadership on digital transformation initiatives.
Oversee system integration and data governance.
Lead cross-functional teams on strategic projects.
Evaluate emerging technologies and guide adoption.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field and 8+ years of professional experience.
Preferred: Master’s degree, enterprise architecture certification, or leadership training.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Expert-level knowledge of software systems and architecture.
Proven leadership in enterprise software development.
