Job Description
Summary: AAA Auto Club Enterprises is the largest club within the national AAA federation, seeking an Actuarial Technician to ensure the accuracy of insurance product pricing and delivery. In this role, you will validate rates, lead system testing, and serve as a subject matter expert while collaborating across teams to enhance product integrity.
Responsibilities:
- You will provide rating support to internal teams; validate premiums and justify changes
- You’ll plan, execute, and support testing (Dev, UAT, Post-implementation); perform peer reviews and troubleshoot using premium validation tools
- You will identify, refine, and resolve rating/system issues to maintain product integrity
- You’ll represent the Actuarial team in meetings; contribute insights and follow through on action items
- You will serve as subject matter expert for assigned states/products, with deep knowledge of rating rules and exceptions
- You’ll develop, enhance, and maintain system rate books
- You will gather requirements, close loopholes, and design solutions to protect product intent
- You’ll independently own projects and rate changes from inception to completion
Required Qualifications:
- Strong analytical, logical, reasoning, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (sorting/filtering, formatting, lookup tables, nested functions)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of insurance industry experience (underwriting, claims, product development, customer service, or related) a plus
- Solid understanding of insurance products, rating systems, and rules for discounts/surcharges a plus
