Job Description
Summary: A Hiring Company is a 100% employee-owned company that has been a leading distributor of natural stone and flooring for over 75 years. They are currently seeking a Payroll Coordinator to provide administrative support for HR services, focusing on payroll coordination, onboarding, and compliance with HR regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Promotes positive employee relations by designing, communicating, and interpreting human resources policies and programs
- Helps build and sustain a positive, collaborative work environment
- Coordinates and processes payroll for all company locations and schedules
- Processes compensation changes, promotions, bonuses, and incentive programs
- Inputs new hires and coordinates onboarding training with their supervisor
- Coordinates the off-boarding process and communication of findings to management
- Analyzes data, prepares reports, and makes recommendations on a variety of payroll items. Including all employee earnings and deduction codes
- Responds to inquiries regarding payroll policies, check details, payroll procedures, and incentive programs
- Responsible for inputting and auditing the benefits deduction changes
- Maintains and updates the employee's electronic documents
- Payroll processing weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly
- Updates payroll for FMLA, medical leaves, and workers' compensation
- Performs other duties as assigned by the manager
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent, one to three years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge and experience with payroll systems and processing
- Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific methods
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage priorities
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
- Proficient in document management, payroll systems, spreadsheets, and word processing
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels
- Good judgment and the ability to make timely, sound decisions
- Ability to work with all levels of management
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
