Accounts Receivable Specialist

Summary: 1-800-Flowers.com is looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Finance team. This role plays a key part in supporting healthy cash flow and strong customer relationships by owning the full Accounts Receivable lifecycle—from billing and cash application to collections and dispute resolution. Responsibilities: - Generate and distribute customer invoices, statements, and dunning letters - Apply cash receipts and credit card payments accurately and on time - Monitor AR aging and proactively follow up on past-due balances - Conduct collection outreach while maintaining positive customer relationships - Investigate billing discrepancies and resolve customer disputes - Support AR reporting and month-end close activities - Partner with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to resolve account issues - Identify opportunities to improve AR processes and workflows Required Qualifications: - Previous experience in Accounts Receivable or a similar accounting role - Strong attention to detail with solid organizational skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams - High school diploma or GED required Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree preferred - Experience with Oracle and procurement platforms (Ariba, Coupa, DSSI) - Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills - Experience in a high-volume or complex AR environment Required Skills: Accounts Receivable experience, Oracle proficiency, Excel skills Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance for the associate and family (if applicable), Flexible Spending Account, Health Savings Account, 401k retirement program, Mental health resources/ Employee Assistance Program, 80 hours of paid vacation time (accrued on an hourly basis), 9 paid holidays, 30% employee discount across our family of brands, Potential eligibility for annual merit-based wage increase, if applicable
