Description
This employee will achieve success by seeing the reliable performance of equipment with minimal unexpected downtime. They will also ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards and use our resources efficiently. This employee will use all means necessary to ensure the efficient and consistent production of quality Country Dairy products.
This position will ensure that all equipment in the dairy plant is in good working order, will diagnose and resolve any malfunctions that occur, and work to reduce downtime on the production line. This is a 45-50 hours/week, second position with regular hours from Monday-Friday. Hours could be somewhat flexible, but must cover the end of first shift and beginning of third shift.
On-call support on a rotating basis will be expected, both via phone and in person.
Requirements
1. Prioritize regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and predictive maintenance techniques to anticipate and prevent potential issues.
2. Identify and notify management about any actual or potential food safety issues and/or resolve them if they are within the scope of their training
3. Emphasize safety in our maintenance activities. Develop and implement safety protocols, conduct thorough risk assessments, and provide ongoing safety training for our team.
4. Utilize technology to enhance our work, including advanced maintenance management systems, predictive maintenance tools, and other technological resources that will optimize our processes and maximize equipment uptime.
5. Engage in open communication and collaboration with other departments, sharing information about maintenance schedules, potential disruptions, and best practices to minimize the impact of maintenance activities on overall operations.
6. Optimize the use of resources, including time, people, and materials to ensure that our maintenance activities are conducted efficiently and cost effectively.
7. Regularly evaluate our maintenance process, implementing best practices to enhance our overall performance.
8. Oversee the maintenance staff in the assignment of tasks, completion of tasks, evaluation of quality and quantity of work, and recommendations for further training.
9. Ensure that maintenance staff has the necessary skills to construct, maintain, install, inspect, adjust, repair, operate, and lubricate machinery, equipment, tools, and buildings.
10. Ensure that maintenance staff has the necessary skills to assess and resolve electrical issues, heating and cooling issues, and automotive issues related to the dairy plant or farm store.
11. Willingness to provide on-call support (phone or in-person) during non-business hours on a rotating basis.
12. Have excellent communication skills with plant manager, food safety manager, maintenance manager as well as other plant personnel.
13. Maintain a neat and organized work area.
14. Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed.
15. Follow and manage the proper use of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SSOP’s (Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures) within the plant.
