The New York City Comptroller’s Office works to promote the financial health, integrity, and effectiveness of New York City government, in order to strengthen trust, secure a thriving future for all New Yorkers, and build a more just, equitable, and resilient city. Led by an independently elected citywide official, the comptroller’s office provides checks and balances needed to hold City government accountable for budgeting wisely, investing responsibly, operating efficiently, acting fairly, living up to its obligations and promises, and paying attention to the long-term challenges we face together.
The Communications Team supports the work of the Comptroller’s office to secure a thriving future for all New Yorkers by disseminating information, highlighting key initiatives, and advancing the conversation on key policy objectives. The Team provides the public-facing voice of the office, working with the press to share information, using digital tools to communicate directly with New Yorkers, and creating communications products to explain the work of the office.
We are currently seeking a Senior Digital Producer to lead the creation of multimedia visual content for the Comptroller’s government digital channels. This includes social media such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Threads, Bluesky, YouTube, Flickr, and TikTok.
This position reports to the Digital Director and will be responsible for producing videos and managing social media to drive transparency and engagement online.
Under the direction of the Digital Director, the Senior Digital Producer’s responsibilities will include the following:
- Lead production of digital projects, including photography, shooting, editing, and subtitling videos, writing captions and posting as needed, ensuring content is well researched, accurate and on brand.
- Pitch story ideas and campaigns, conceptualizing from pitch to platform.
- Write and refine scripts for videos with the Comptroller and other digital projects, adapting for different platforms as needed, collaborating with the Design team for the development of visual assets. Ensure scripts reflect messaging objectives.
- Shoot and edit photo and video at Comptroller events and media interviews and maintain archive.
- Collaborate with the Communications Team and other bureaus to produce timely and on-message content.
- Create social media content performance reports analyzing insights. Identify trends and best practices to support engagement and audience growth.
- Produce and manage multiple projects under deadline.
- Perform other assignments and special projects as required.
